Well I yesterday my last bit of cloth diapers came in for Baby Z. I can say besides laundry detergent and cloth baby face clothes(to be used as wipes) I’m set. Actually I too much. Thing is I for a good deal locally on some diapers and bought them, then bought the covers. Then I found a brand that could cover my baby from 8lbs to 35+lbs for so very cheap and seems like amazong quaility. So I will likely sell off some of this stash unused eventually, but for now its better to have it and if I need it I don’t have to spend cash on maternity leave that I don”t have.
Here is my whole stash
Here is my newborn stash. I have 24 prefolds, 7 Bummis newborn covers that I got on clearance for $5 a piece, and 5 snappins which I got for a $1 piece. The orange diaper is a fitted diaper by RearZ. I received that as a free gift.
These are the Giggle Life pocket diapers. Each one fits 8-35+lbs, and comes with 2 microfiber soakers. I scored 24 brand new diapers with 2 soakers each for $145(including shipping and taxes)
Here are our swimmer diapers for the summer I bought 2 smalls and 2 mediums. Because we tend to spend a lot of time at the hubby’s aunts pool.
The the Kushies basic fitted and pocket diapers diapers I got onsale at the local Sears. I can’t return them because they were final sale. Plus I had already found the covers and liners cheap online. I also bought a 6 pack of used Kushies in the toddler size and 2 covers in good used condition for $7. So I’m keeping them for now, but I might sell them if I don’t use them.
I also have these larger size Thirstie fitted diapers(6) and liners. I had bought them when Wesley was about 2. I thought I could use them to potty train, but I landed up using Kushies Training pants. Come to think of it, I think I gave those good training pants away. Damn it! I havent’t noticed them in my purging. Oh well, I’m sure I can find some when the time comes.
Overall I believe I spent about $450 on this stash. Thats like a little over 11 cases of diapers. On average with Wesley I was going through about 2 case a month. So we should break even at 5 1/2 months. And if I sell off some of those diapers that I don’t use, it could be sooner. And the really we are planning on having one or two more babies, so I will have them ready to go for the next one. After that if I can manage to keep them in good condition, I`m sure I can sell them for a little money.
