October Book Ideas for: Halloween/Thanksgiving & Fire Prevention Week

Throughout the year I collect books to read with Zakari at garage sales, online buy & sells, and thrift stores. Usually I find several Christmas, Halloween and other holidays related books. The plan is always to read it just before the actually holiday. But that holiday comes and goes, and I forget to pull them out! Then a month or two later I remember them. I know I could read a book out of season, but I really like to get Z hyped up for the holiday by reading books aloud to him.

So this year I decided that I was going to prepare. I planned which books I want to read throughout the year. OK, I may have gone a little overzealous and scheduled too many. Even still, I can prioritize holiday books, because they are already pulled and organized by week.

So for the month of October, we are prioritizing Fire Prevention, and Halloween. Then adding a bit about Thanksgiving and The World Series.

Canadian Thanksgiving

Since Thanksgiving is a month earlier in Canada, we decided to read this book the week before. There really is not a lot available to read in regards to Canadian Thanksgiving that I can find. If you know of a book please share it in the comments so we can check it out!
